Microphone Not Working or Low Volume

  1. Please check that you have plugged the 3.5mm microphone lead it into the correct port on your computer.
  2. If it's still not working go to Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound (or just Sound if you have XP or earlier) - Sound
  3. You should see a window that has three tabs at the top (playback, recording, sounds). Click recording.
  4. If your webcam microphone is plugged in there will be a microphone with a green tick next to it and it will have a "working" status.
  5. Make a noise and see if the bar on the right shows any sound. If it doesn't even with a very loud noise right next to the webcam please contact us through the selling channel that you made your purchase.
  6. If it does show some sound but not much, double click on the picture of the microphone. Then go to the levels tab at the top and then increase the microphone level or add some microphone boost.
  7. If any issues persist please contact us through the selling channel that you made your purchase.

No Video Image or Webcam Not Available

If the webcam cannot be found by your webcam viewing software or if no video image is displayed; please try the following to see if the issue is caused by the webcam or software settings.

  1. Plug your webcam into your computer and then go to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
  2. Download the VLC media player (it's free) and one it's installed, run the application.
  3. Click "Media" (top left hand corner) and in the drop down menu click "Open Capture Device".
  4. On the right side of "Video device name" click on "Default" and on the drop down select "USB Video Device".
  5. Click Play at the bottom.
  6. A small image from your webcam should appear on your screen (it will be very small at this point).
  7. If the small image is shown then any issues you may be having on other software must be due to a settings issue on the software. Please review the settings for the software that you are attempting to use and / or refer to the software help and guidance.
  8. If no image is displayed on VLC media player please update your DirectX to the latest version: http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/directx/
